Democrats Propose Broad Salk Vaccine Bill

Senate Democrats move to extend free Salk polio vaccine to every American child and finance it beyond Eisenhower’s plan. Tussey Named As Fire Chief For Goodyear

Ora F. Tussey, 839 10th St., is appointed fire chief of Goodyear Atomic Corporation's Fire Department replacing D. B. Marshall who resigned to return to Panama. Tussey is a Navy veteran with 14 years service and 11 years active duty, having served in World War II and the Korean War, and holds a B S in education from Eastern Kentucky State College. He is married to Bessie Schmidt and they have a daughter, Donna.

Fullerton Honors Dr Meadows at Banquet

Rev. Omer Miller calls Dr M W Meadows a mans man as 200 Fullerton residents praise the 87 year old physician for fifty years of service at McKell High School. The event named Dr Meadows Day. He recalls delivering about 5000 babies in a lifetime, including four in one night at scattered locations. A painting titled The Divine Healer was given to him by the town.

Notre Dame High Prepares 41th Graduating Class Tonight

A 41 student graduating class at Notre Dame High School will receive diplomas at 8:30 p.m. in the gym auditorium marking the school's third commencement. Rev. John V. Foreign Aid Bill Heads To House In Senate Approval

The 3.5 billion dollar foreign aid program won Senate approval by 59 to 18 after nearly all attempts to cut the total failed. The measure authorizes a seven year aid program with money to be voted separately, while Yugoslavia would receive 40 million for defense and other military aid.

Trains Wreck Two Vehicles On N and W Rails

Three out of state residents were hurt in a Route 23 crash about 232 miles north of Portsmouth. Ollie Hopkins and June Holyfield, both from River Rouge Michigan and Dorton Kentucky respectively, were treated for scalp lacerations arm abrasions and other injuries. The Holyfields were cited for failing to stop within an assured clear distance. A separate train auto collision near Clifford crossing left Mrs Maxine Fultz and companions stranded after the engine died and they escaped the stalled car.
