Mrs Bertha DeAtley Dickson 61 wife of Charles Dicks died Saturday at Arion. Funeral services set for 10 a m Tuesday at Lucasville Funeral Home with Row and C F Satters officiating. Burial in Rushtown Cemetery. She was born in Lewis County to Henry and Alannie Beckett DeAtley. Survived by husband and children a sister and several brothers.
Lat piles for Jeff B Brown lying Thursday were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home of his daughter Mrs Harry Cunningham 1239 10th street. The services were in charge of Taos C M Bowman and W G Seaman. The pallbearers were five grandsons a nephew Oxcar Raymond and Ioyard Cunningham Alec Stiles Ronald Brown and John W Stir.
Katherine Sauter, sister of Adolph Weber Henrys, died Saturday night after a heart attack. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. George Yeager of Roanoke, and three grandchildren. Mrs. Yeager had been her home companion. Burial details not provided.
Nannie E. Jones, 63, died Sunday at home 1828 Jackson Avenue following a cerebral hemorrhage. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Survived by husband Emmerson, two sons Roy and Dwight, both at home, two brothers Frank and Ernest Berry of Portsmouth, a sister Mrs. Ruby Thornberry of Columbus. Funeral Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home with Rev. Barton B. Miller officiating. Burial planned.
Ralph G. McCollam, 38, longtime Singer Sewing Machine manager, died Sunday at his brother M. V. McCollam’s Beckley West Virginia home after a period of illness. He had recently resigned due to health and was transferred from Charleston to Ports-Howth. He is survived by his wife and a son. Burial will be in Charleston Tuesday.
Mrs. Harrod Montgomery and Mrs. Alice Montgomery, 24, wife of Harrod Montgomery of Lucasville route 1, were admitted to Portsmouth General Hospital with complications following childbirth. The child was born at the parents’ residence and Mrs. Montgomery was admitted at 5 39 a m Sunday and the birth occurred around 10 45 a m.
