Pupils stage a tuneful Ports mouth High School production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Pinafore under Bliss Elizabeth Moore. The cast includes William Potts Walter Sowers William Pressler and Ruth Anne Kendall among others. Principal roles are split with a strong chorus and impressive ensemble singing highlighting the showmanship of the production.

Germans flee on foot after cranks stolen by Russian boys

London Dec 18. The government passed a conscription bill to force British women into compulsory national service and extend male service to ages 18 to 50. It will take effect upon the king's assent. Previous male conscription ages were 19 to 41.
