Hutchinson Dies in Ironton
Charley Hutchinson, longtime lawman famed for raids on bootleggers, has died in Ironton after a career in Lawrence County and state forces. Survived by widow Roma and three daughters, he was a respected Republican and held roles as sheriff deputy county commissioner and state patrolman with time spent in Scio and elsewhere. He was active in the Trenton Lodge of Fikes and remembered for his big heart and trusted service.

Postponed executions for two killers in Pennsylvania
Harrisburg reports Irene Shrader and Glenn Dague, found guilty of murder of a state trooper near New Castle, will have their executions delayed from January 12 to February 13. Governor Fisher granted respites to allow their applications for sentence commutations to be reviewed at the February state board of pardons meeting.
