The president signed the tariff bill today at 12.59 pm, revising the century old rate structure in over 1000 cases and overhauling administration. Customs officials anticipate a rush of ships to ports and will require updated cargo papers to use the old rate before midnight tonight. Bureaucrats expect some confusion as new rates take effect.
Two pilots began a long endurance flight from Jacksonville Beach to San Diego in a field monoplane. The voyage aimed to cover about 3400 miles and return within roughly 30 hours, with a 450 gallon fuel load and no incidents reported as the craft skimmed the shore before heading west.

The York primary results show narrow margins across multiple offices. Senator Brewster led with 254 while White had 472, Governor Cardiner 525, Wilson 160, and other races including State Senator Boulter 597 and Jacobs 310. Officials at a local submarine base praised a salvage mission that recovered a submerged O-4 class submarine after a lengthy effort.
