Court hears tangled DUI trial in South Berwick

Harold Amero, 36, of Rochester, fined 123 dollars plus costs for driving under the influence on House 103 in South Berwick. He pleaded innocent and appealed, remanded to jail until a 400 bond is posted. Fred Marker, 34, also of Rochester, pleaded innocent to DUI. case continued to June 12. Mrs. Mary Henderson, 29, of South Berwick, fined 10 dollars plus costs for intoxication in the car. state police testified Amero drove the vehicle, while witnesses offered conflicting accounts.

Troopers Complete Red Cross First Aid Course at Kittery Point

Fifteen members of a local state police troop finished the basic Red Cross first aid course last week and began an advanced session Tuesday night at the Kittery Fire Station. Stanley Rogers led as volunteer instructor with Sherman B. Clarks, Lt. Roger M. Whitmore, and Frederick Perry coordinating. Additional participants included William Huldat, Royal Spoffard, Richard Keirstead, Lloyd Leighton, Guy Savage, Jon Pride, Carroll Wilson, Stanley Haskell, John Chase, Bernard Gerardo, Chester Emmons, Wesley Records, and Byron.
