Treasury Sets Sale Of Notes

The Treasury announced a major sale next week open to investors with as little as 1000 dollars. A 10 year 8 percent note requires a 20 percent down payment and pays interest semi annually with the balance due August 16. Officials may offer at least 4 billion dollars in 10 year notes and 2 billion in three year notes with futures bids. FTC targets six large cigarette firms for alleged advertising violations and potentially huge fines.
