Jacobsen Charge Dropping Upheld By Appeals Court
The 5th Circuit ruled the Justice Department acted within its rights to drop a federal charge against milk lobbyist Jake Jacobsen in exchange for his testimony against John Connally. Jacobsen still faces a state theft trial in San Angelo set for January 12. The court said Judge Hill overstepped by interfering with the federal dismissal while leaving the state case intact.

Judge to rule Thursday in Dallas desegregation case
US District Judge William Taylor said he will rule Thursday on the Dallas school desegregation case. He refused to dismiss Highland Park Independent School District from the suit, hearing arguments from both sides. Plaintiffs seek Highland Park in any court ordered desegregation plan. a hearing on such a plan is set for February.
