Family Hour hearings to probe TV’s late night standard
AP reports a House subcommittee will hold hearings in Los Angeles on the TV family hour standard amid a lawsuit led by Norman Lear and others. Witnesses include Roddenberry, Cosby, National Gay Task Force, a PTA group, and an Adult Film Association rep. The event is an oversight review, not a new law. FCC economist Allan Pearce will testify. Network and NAB officials were invited but declined pending related court action.
