Fire Safety on Small Boats Promoted by Texas Officials
Early boat fires often occur during fueling. Do not fill tanks, shut off engines, close ports, extinguish cigarettes, keep nozzle in contact with pipe, wipe spills, air stored rags, and store sealed. Open ports after starting engine and vent for five minutes. Use a charged extinguisher if fire breaks out.
