Public Service Award Presented by NWS in Texas
The National Weather Service honors the Texas Hurricane Awareness Program sponsors for alerting coastal residents to hurricane risks. Babe Schwartz of Galveston and Clint Dare accept the award with Ed Dilcreto and Dan Bellue presenting, while George Cressman signs the letter. The governors’ Disaster Emergency Services division previously received its portion. Plans for 1978 include a local speakers bureau and a hurricane preparedness radio series.
