Hazel's Fashions prepares a formal opening weekend with a expanded, two‑section building in Port Isabel. Mrs Hazel Wampler, who opened Hazel's Shoppe in January 1953, has doubled space and marked down merchandise for the sale. The new concrete block building on Garcia Street was built by W D Ertel with Jaudon Lumber and Harlingen Lumber supplying materials. Electrical work by Port Electric Service and plumbing by Howard Dixon Plumbing accompanied the project. Brand names to be offered include White Stag Sea Nymph Rogers Strutwear Berkshire Craftwear and Donovans.
