Junior High Students Shine at UIL Meet in Two Cities
Junior High students competed at the UIL meet in Los Fresnos and Brownsville on Saturday April 8. Sponsor Mrs Belue led Michele Ryan to second place and Russell Groemer to fourth in number sense. Oral Reading featured Lori Ham Michael Ryan Betty Garcia Patty Radar Irene Galvan. Spelling saw Susan Harris and Lori Ham, with Irene Galvan as alternate. Lori Zimmerman placed sixth in Cameron County Spelling. Some students believed rope in pockets brought luck at cards.
