Beekeeping guidance notes that fall honey may be difficult for bees to digest in winter. A 10 pound colony needs about 60 pounds of honey and 4 5 combs of pollen annually. Feed sugar syrup after fall honey flow ends, monitor rations, and provide soybean flour on top of frames if pollen runs short. Place a sugar syrup can in each hive when housing new bees or honey is scarce.
