Secretary of Agriculture Orville L Freeman announces that the 1969 feed grain program minimum diversion will be between 20 and 25 percent of the feed grain base. The minimum has stood at 20 percent for eight years, with additional diversions likely to balance production and requirements. final provisions await further determination as studies progress.

Minister Moves Through Polk County Churches

Reverend Deryl Reed, new pastor at Polk and Swede Plain Methodist churches, also serves as Polk County Welfare Director. After June conference the Polk post remained vacant. in August 1967 Reed agreed to serve as pulpit minister while keeping welfare duties. He and Delores Reed bring six children, all named with D, to Polk County for the school term.

Prairie Symposium speech at Knox College Galesburg
