Death of R. E. Merchant Reported in Atlantic Iowa
Word came Monday of the death of R. E. Merchant who died that morning in Atlantic Iowa. Ken Bedient and Gail Kealiher left Sunday for Kearney State Teachers College for the current year. Paul Holmes and son John returned Thursday from a two week trip to Olympia Washington. Deborah Miller stays with Mr and Mrs Floyd Miller while her parents attend a Legion convention in Denver.

Polk Local News Visitors Back From Denver and Lincoln
Mrs Floyd Larson returned from a two week visit Friday spent with relatives in Denver and Greeley. Cole Mrs Hannah Hahn Doyle and Delano were Sunday evening visitors of Mr and Mrs Harold Hanquist. Mr and Mrs Louie Blase motored to Lincoln Tuesday for a visit in the home of their daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs Robert Porter and to attend the State Fair. Mr and Mrs Harl Stevens and Mr and Mrs Lloyd Stromberg were in Lincoln Wednesday for a parents convocation and coffee hour at Wesleyan University.
