Airman First Class Dallas E K Timmons, son of Mr and Mrs Ernest Timmons of Hordville, arrives for duty at Reese Air Force Base Texas after completing a Germany tour. An air policeman, he joins an Air Training Command unit supporting training of airmen and officers. A Hardville High School graduate, he entered the Air Force in December 1958. His wife Betty is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Dale Brown of Page Arizona.

Latest Polk High figures show senior high enrollment up to 100 from 85 last year. Total district enrollment slips to 302 from 306 in September 1963, with kindergarten dropping from 23 to 15. Grade counts list 12th grade at 28 and 6th grade leading with 92 pupils.

Drowning death of Bobby Myers reported in Vancouver
The body of Bobby Myers, 29, of Vancouver Washington, was recovered Saturday from the Willamette River after an accidental drowning. Survived by his mother Mrs Henry Maas, sister Sharon Myers of Vancouver, brother Jack Myers of Low Beach California, and grandmother Mrs John Myers of Polk. Funeral services were held this week in Vancouver.

Golf season ends with Eoff Handicap tournament
The season closed September 6 at Riverside Golf Course with the Eoff Handicap event. Eldon Johnson won the fifth flight trophy, Marvin Fredrickson was runner up in the third flight, and K. L. Stewart captured the Eoff Handicap trophy. The Citizens State Bank sponsored event will not be held this year due to late season.

Purina Dealer Dinner Draws Feeders From Region
About 15 local dealers and 850 feeders attended the Purina Dealer dinner at York City auditorium. Polk Grain Co. and manager Vern Jones were present among guests from Stromsburg Gresham Utica Fairmont Norfolk Lexington Broken Bow and east of the Missouri River. Dr. Jim Williamson led the cattle research department as principal speaker.

Green family operates licensed Polk game farm with varied birds
Harold Green and sons run a Polk county game farm with four kinds of peafowl two quail varieties and about sixteen pheasant kinds including a golden pheasant. They hatched seven quail and about sixty pheasants this year. Eggs hatch under bantam hens with plans for an incubator. Two chipmunk cages feature a circular treadmill. Birds are sold to other game farms and bird clubs. Also notes home made ice cream and a graveside service for infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ziegelbein of Sutton conducted by Rev Eno Schuelke with only family present. Lori Ziegelbein is their daughter.

Polk and York county churches sent groups to the Graham Polk event at Ak-Sar-Sen stadium September 4 to 13. A Polk Baptist church bus carried 34 CYF members with 6 from York on Saturday. Tuesday and Wednesday buses carried 41 and 37 passengers. A 25 member group from Evangelical Free church joined in Central City for Tuesday evening Crusade attendance.
