E. M. Hosman secretary of the Nebraska State Teachers association reports many Nebraskans at Columbia University. He spent weeks there after attending the National Educational Association convention in Atlanta. Hosman taught three lectures in education philosophy and noted the staff and students mirrored Nebraska.

Pleasanton stock man tops Omaha market with heifers and steers

Joseph Zweimer of Pleasanton sold two carloads of herefords he raised. Nineteen heifers averaged 24 pounds sold at 14.50 per hundred. A carload of 28 steers averaging 914 pounds brought 16.25, reportedly the year's high for light steers at Omaha.

Big Distillery Raided By Federal Dry Agents Near Louisville

A well equipped distillery believed capable of 200 to 300 gallon daily output was raided eight and a half miles southwest of Louisville. Two active stills were found in a cattle shed with 105 gallons of whisky 10,900 gallons of mash 600 pounds of sugar and two coke furnaces. No one was in the building suggesting a lookout.

Two Youthful Ex-Convicts Sentenced to 50 Years Each

Twenty minutes after Judge Fitz gerald sentenced them Dr Ville Evans and Max Crowley were driven to Lincoln to begin 50 year terms. The two had led a spree of robberies ending in the kidnapping of two girls from their escorts in Omaha and were guarded by Sheriff McDonald and deputies.

Two Families Reunion Elects Wright President

E. J. Wright of Omaha was elected president for the ensuing year when 110 members of the Fouts and Wright families held their twenty third annual reunion at Falls City. Other officers named were Mose Wright Alliance vice president and Edward Pacy Papillion secretary treasurer. The group selected Elmwood part Omaha as the place for the 1930 meeting to be held August 17.
