The Army remount service will supply over 21000 horses and 13174 mules to seven divisions across the country. Each division gets 8034 horses and 1882 mules to keep near regular division stations. Readers are also reminded of local notices and upcoming Lyceum Course lectures.
Rural carrier examination will be held at Osceola November 8 to fill vacancies at Stromsburg and other rural routes in Polk County. Many local residents are noted in town and area visits, with social events, travels, and reports from Lincoln and nearby towns.
Dewey Mincks visited his parents at York Sunday. The clocks revert to standard time at 2 a.m. on the last Sunday in October, which falls on the 26th.
A cash prize of 3.00 dollars will be awarded to the person selling the most season tickets. The next highest seller will receive 2.00 dollars. First prize requires twenty tickets. Tickets are now on sale at various business houses.
