Return to America after shipwreck in War of 1812

Capt Lion Fellowes of the Sachem is sunk off Portugal by a British frigate. His crew surrenders but he reaches shore aided by an English speaking girl who hides her identity. He travels to Lisbon to find a new voyage and encounters Capt Chater of the True Bounty who offers a berth. Fellowes declines, sensing Chater's disloyalty, and reunites with the girl Cara Inglepin who entices him to sail as mate aboard the True Bounty.
