The Salvation Army fundraising drive spans October 6 to 11 in Polk County. Readers are urged to contribute to support the group praised for aiding World War boys and sustaining its work.
Polk high school opened its football season last Friday at Stromsburg. Polk ran in seven touchdowns, scoring 42 points while Stromsburg managed a long 90 yard kickoff return by Lind but could not reach Polk’s end zone. Oct 10 looms as a rematch promise.
The Polk item notes next Saturday will be Doughnut Day.
