The market shows a steady run with strong demand for good steers and cows. Top hogs not listed. cattle prices include prime heavy steers 13.00 to 15.25, yearlings 11.50 to 15.25, cows 8.50 to 9.75, grass beef 7.50 to 9.50, stockers 8.75 to 12.00, and calves 4.00 to 11.00, with varying grades and rough stock-offerings in a mixed yard sale.

Market steady as hog and lamb trade edges higher

Hog sale remained sturdy with prices around 8.60 to 8.78 for top butcher weights and steady to firm lamb and ewe offerings. About 18 000 fresh sheep and lambs arrived and sold readily with fat lambs near 12.00 to 12.50 and feeder lambs firm to higher. ewes ranged 5.25 to 6.75 for fat and 3.99 to 5.00 for cull grades.

School Notes From Mission Camp Grounds Activities

The Intermediate and Grammar rooms held a wiener roast at the Mission Camp Grounds last week. Grammar room pupils worked on wood work and sewing Friday afternoon. Third and fourth graders gave fruit gifts to elderly townspeople as thanks. The Stromaburg Polk football game was canceled due to bad weather. The Dramatic Club performed The Ghost Bird to an enthusiastic audience and praise the cast. Watch for the first school night entertainment on Friday December 6.
