Funeral services will be held at the United Presbyterian Church in Utica at 10 30 a m Thursday November 7 for Floyd Lyle 68 a former Polk businessman who ran the Co op Service Station in Utica before retiring and previously owned a Phillips 66 station in Polk He was a member of Utica Eastern Star Masonic Lodge Volunteer Fire Department and the United Presbyterian Church Survivors include his wife Marie two daughters Mrs Robert Young of Morgantown West Virginia Mrs Darrell Gierdan of Utica two brothers Carl of Crete Ted of San Jose California three sisters Mrs John Terrill of York and Mrs Pauline Scott

Polk High Cubs dominated Doniphan 46 to 12 in the season finale. Seven seniors Carlstrom Hoffman Goertzen Bodine Swanson Branting Ostberg played their last game as Coach Owens cleared the bench. Carlstrom ran and passed for multiple scores while Hoffman added a two point attempt and Branting scored late. Polk finishes 5-4.
