Community Hall Renovation Sees Donations and Work Progress

The Community Hall Renovation Fund gained 430 dollars in a week with a 250 dollar gift from American Legion Post 160. A Tuesday work crew led by Morris Lindquist will install fabric wallpaper as Lyla Meerkatz and Diane Johnson bought wallpaper in Omaha. Proceeds from a Friday cake sale by Mrs Donald Widga and her class support the Hall Fund.

UNL Honors Convocation Recognizes Polk Students

Janette and Cheryl Samuelson of Polk were among 2700 students honored for high scholastic achievement at UN L Honors Convocation held Tuesday April 8 at the Lincoln Coliseum. Janette is a junior in Teachers College majoring in Art and Cheryl a sophomore in Arts and Sciences majoring in English. Mr and Mrs Dean Samuelson attended and dined with their daughters afterwards.

Ball Field Work Wednesday Night

All able bodies are invited to work on the ball field this evening after 6. Volunteers will repair the field backstops and bleachers for summer games and clean the popcorn shack for the season.
