Revival attendance and local visits fill week

Attendance at the Baptist church revival grows with big crowds and early closing hours for local businesses. Freemont visitor H F Brown and multiple families visit nearby towns while Reed Bros. receive a carload of new Chevrolets. Other residents travel between Osceola Stromsburg Grand Island and Columbus for visits and business.

Union Revival alters business hours across town

Business Men United announce early closing from 7 30 to 9 30 P M during Union Evangelistic services at the Baptist church from March 24 to April 7 inclusive. Polk Baptist Union Revival Under Violet Heefner

Three weeks of union evangelistic services led by Violet J Heefner and Sudenga have drawn large crowds at the Polk Baptist church. Miss Heefner speaks Sunday at 11 A M and 7 P M with Miss Sudenga at the piano, inviting all in Polk and vicinity to attend and receive a blessing.

Violet Heefner Evangelist Chooses Pulpit Over Stage

A Des Moines Tribune note from 1926 profiles Violet Heefner now 22, an evangelist who declined a stage career to pursue religious work. She trained at Moody Bible Institute and has preached across Iowa Missouri Nebraska, returning to Polk to lead a three week revival at Gatchel Memorial church and advocate clean youth activities.
