Local Candidate Seeks County Judge Nomination

Bank chartering policy reviewed urges sound, stable banking

Carl K. Withers, New Jersey Banking and Insurance Commissioner, told the Eastern Conference on Banking Service that the nation is over-banked and called for a sound charter policy. He warned against political influence and noting that community need, honest motive, capital adequacy, and existing bank density must guide charter decisions.
