Local Committee Plans Appeal to Improve Highway 66
A group of local men will petition state highway officials in Lincoln early next month to grade and file Highway 66 east and west of Polk. Central City and Hordville delegates may join. Talks of federal takeover as a military highway are unlikely. Heavy snows have left the road in poor condition with bed lower than ditches. Shelterbelt work along Polk County’s highway is deferred pending grading decisions.
