EN3 Leonard Warnick 21 killed on active duty in Vietnam awaiting funeral. Services set at St Vincent's Catholic Church Osceola with military rites by Lemuel R. Wilcox Post 160 Polk. Navy reports he fell from a patrol boat on the Kinhmojhat Canal June 7 and body recovered June 9. Warnick, Polk High School 1967 graduate, married Sandra Aker. survived by wife, daughter Alicia Marie, parents, and brother Anthony. He had Purple Heart for February wounding and had been stationed in California Illinois before Vietnam. Born Osceola January 14 1949.

Rev Wood Family Honored At Farewell

About 200 guests attended a farewell for Pastor Gene Wood and his family at First Baptist Church on Sunday evening June 14. The mens chorus performed and Dawn Killion and Loren Glasser sang solos. The Woods recalled six years in Polk with canoe trips and hikes as the group presented a gift, flowers, and corsages. Ice cream cake and coffee followed, with pink and white decorations.

Eric Orstedt Dies In Tucson Arizona

Eric W. Orstedt of Tucson Arizona died June 4 at age 68. He leaves a wife Sarah two sons John Iver Carl and daughter Clara Ann plus son-in law and three grandchildren in Singapore. Brothers and sisters in Sweden and Mrs Oscar Anderson of Polk also mourn. Funeral services were held June 9 at Bring Broadway Chapel Rev Goette officiated. Attending from Polk were Harold Reuben Lee and their mother Mrs Oscar Anderson. He and his twin brother Carl came to America from Sweden and Carl preceded him in death in 1939.
