Raymond Cox and wife drove to Lincoln Saturday for Mrs Cox’s medical care. Mrs L L Pollock left Friday for Sioux City to summer with relatives. Miss Hannah Theiss visited locally before returning to Julesburg as Shirsiles Newton came home from overseas Friday with discharge from Camp Dodge. A E Grow and wife, Shannon Shafer and Blanche Sedam attended the Elks convention at York Thursday. A E Swanson returned Sunday from his farm to the western part of the state with a fine ee sample. Charles Evans arrived from Audubon Saturday and will stay in Polk. he joined A O Monson Go and will remodel the old building for a garage showplace for his Ov erlands.
A. E. Anderson of the U S bureau of crop estimates warns that orange leaf rust, unusually prevalent in Nebraska, could lower winter wheat production. The statement notes rust usually causes little damage but may affect yields before heading and des tination of the ver s product on Albert Benson’s farm and other Nebraska holdings.
