Practical Electrical Drying of Soft Corn Using Fan Air
Farmers report successful use of fan operated forced air in cribs to dry immature corn with no heat. In temperatures as low as 50 degrees, forced air dries corn economically. higher heat speeds operation. Karl Mohr of Ohio describes a 35 by 10 foot crib with a 42 inch fan and 5 horsepower motor to push air under the crib and through slatted floors, venting moisture and aiding storage.

Know Your Breed Polled Hereford By W. J. DRYDEN
Since 1902 American cattlemen have developed the Poll Hereford a hornless strain. From early work by Benjamin Tompkins the breed grew to about 200000 on official records. Mating hornless bulls with horned cows yields about half hornless calves. The first hornless cattle exhibit appeared at the Omaha fair in 1898. Today they dominate fairs and shows.
