Mr and Mrs Don Bjerrum of Bradshaw announce the engagement of their daughter Vicki Lee Bjerrum to Norman Reckner of Lincoln He is the son of Mr and Mrs Edward Reckner of Bradshaw He is a Polk High School and University of Nebraska alum and teaches at Wolbach Public School He served three years in the U S Army and works for N D Judds Construction Co while taking a Cleveland Institute of Electronics correspondence course A June 12 wedding is planned.

Enrollment gains eight in Polk Schools during term start

The second semester began January 18, 1971. Eight students were added since the year began and one moved away. Enrollment is 251 with 119 in E-6, 41 in Jr. High, and 90 in high school. New arrivals include Vernon Tallman Grade 6 Darryl Grade 5 Keith Grade 4 Myron Grade 2 from Custer County. Parents Bill and Mrs. Tallman become Polk Bible Camp managers.

Mr and Mrs Kenneth Klaasmeier are parents of a son named John David born January 23 at Aurora Hospital weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Bernard and Agnes Andreasen and maternal great grandmother is Mrs Ethel Benson.

Otto Wilshusen’s 80th Birthday Observed in Crete

Otto Wilshusen of Crete Nebr celebrated his 80th birthday Sunday Jan 24 with about 170 relatives and friends at the Lutheran Church basement. The gathering included numerous Wilshusen relatives from nearby towns and several other area families. The event featured visiting, singing and games and notes that his health has greatly improved since illness last year.
