Purple Finches Highlight Platte River Birdwatch Day
A weekend birding trip along the Platte river valley logged 21 species with Swede Lind and Lee Morris noting a pine siskin sighting and about 25 purple finches near the river road west of the wood bridge. Swede added a Cooper's hawk and marsh hawk to the day’s records as the group counted 43 species since January 1, 1973.
