Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Polk County Nebraska will receive bids at the office of the County Clerk until noon February 19 1929 for furnishing labor in the erection of concrete culverts bridges and approaches in Polk County during 1929. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check of 500 payable to the County Clerk to be forfeited if the bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract and give bonds as required. New U S Paper Money Goes Into Circulation

The government will replace Civil War era paper money with a new style. Bills will be six by two and a half inches, replacing seven by three, curbing ink and paper costs by about four million dollars yearly and improving durability. Each denomination will feature a unique design in dull green and brown to deter counterfeiting.
