Obituary for Arnold Wilbur Refshauge 81 in York
Arnold Wilbur Refshauge, 81, died at home Monday January 3. He was born April 1, 1895 in Cedar Falls Iowa and educated at Cedar Falls High School Drake University and DePaul University. He served in WWI and moved to Nebraska in 1919 active in banking and public service in York. He married Henrietta Whitacre May 5 1920 and held multiple community roles. Services set for January 7 at First United Methodist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery York.

Yearly rainfall totals show dryness in late 1976
The last quarter of 1976 was near record dry with only 0.30 in of moisture. The year totaled 21.24 in, close to normal for the region. September brought the wettest month at 4.53 in, aided by a 2.33 in rain on Sept 25, while July reached 4.20 in and kept the area green. Prediction for 1977 remains uncertain until year’s end.
