John Deere Show Slated at Polk Theatre January 9

Leo Wurtz, local John Deere dealer, announces the annual John Deere show at the Polk Theatre. The feature picture One Man's Family will be shown at 1:00 PM with free admission and door prizes. Farmers and families are invited to attend this free event.

C A Scheapler will hold a public farm sale on his farm Tuesday January 16. The sale includes a full line of farm machinery cattle poultry and many household articles. Watch Night Service at Evangelical Church

Sunday watch service at the Evangelical Free Church featured a film by the youth titled The Prodigal Son, an organ solo by Gilbert Glad, and a vocal duet by Mr and Mrs Gilbert Glad. Devotions ran from 11 30 to 12 with refreshments served to Wilshusen at York. Dudley Robert Baack, son of Mr and Mrs Robert Baack, was baptized at Immanuel Church with sponsors Mrs Max Jones and Erwin Blase. Families gathered for New Year’s Eve visits and a Sunday dinner in honor of the baptism with numerous relatives listed from the Baack, Blase, and Germeroth families.

Relatives report the death of Hugh Hurd formerly of this community at his home in Huntington Park California. Mr and Mrs Hurd recently visited here. Burial took place in California. Mrs Mervin Shenk is a niece of Mr Hurd.

Christmas Reunion Marks 28th Family Gathering

Christmas guests at the Rolland Dahlin home included Marilyn and Delores Dahlin of Lincoln and Miss Matilda Erickson of New ard Wisconsin. After Christmas the Dahlin couple and Miss Erickson visited Oberlin Kansas to see the ladies brothers. A sister from Denver joined, ending a 28 year gap since the family last gathered.
