Chemical 2 4 D Proves Effective Weed Eradicator
Research at Mississippi State Agricultural Experiment Station led by Prof. O Leonard and F H Herzer shows 2 4 D acts as a plant hormone and kills broad leaf weeds. USDA notes that a 1 percent solution in 10 gallons of water can be deadly to dandelion plantain and many other weeds under proper conditions.

Paint with DDT shows long insect control in farms
A wall paint named Superior 365, containing 200 milligrams of DDT per square foot, provides effective insect control for up to 16 months after a single application. Tests show seven seconds contact paralyzes and kills flies within 30 minutes, with the paint being harmless to humans and useful in milk houses and other farm buildings.
Superphosphate Use Boosts Manure Yields and Odor Control
Five to six tons of animal manure treated with one half Bacat superphosphate per ton can match the yield gains of 10 to 12 tons per acre without the chemical. Application options include scattering over the manure load before field use or applying in barns or sheds. Using it in barns reduces odors and nitrogen loss.
