Charles A. Johnson 83 longtime Hordville resident died the prior Tuesday and funeral services were held January 29 at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville. Burial was at Hordville Cemetery. He was born October 30, 1883, in Stark to Otto A. and Anna Louise Johnson. He married Sadie Hanquist in 1906 at Central City. He lived and farmed in Hardville area until 1956 then moved to Central City and in 1965 to an Aurora nursing home. Survivors include a son Wallace of Lincoln, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He played drums in the Polk Municipal Band and a Polk orchestra from the 1920s.
