New Forage Fish Aims To Boost Lewis and Clark Lake
Biologists from Nebraska South Dakota and the US Fish and Wildlife Service propose stocking spottail shiner forage fish to improve fishing at Lewis and Clark Lake on the Missouri River. The shiners, developing in shoreline vegetation, could offset rapid lake turnover that flushes fry through spillways. Loss of spawning habitat due to siltation may worsen the decline in fish populations.
