Fire damages Dave Ring home and local fire response notes
The Dave Ring residence suffered extensive fire damage from smoke and water on Wednesday noon November 26, with volunteers battling the stubborn blaze. Polk fire units also responded December 2 to a tractor fire near Melvin Bender. The Polk Cubs open basketball season Friday hosting Hampton at 6 30 with a reserve game, then host Bradshaw the following night on their home maples.

Mr and Mrs Roy Nelson observed their 50th wedding anniversary at the United Methodist Church in Clarks Sunday November 23. A short program by their children and grandchildren followed in the church sanctuary. A reception for relatives and guests occurred in the basement with sisters and sisters in law assisting at the serving table. An evening smorgasbord was served to distant relatives and friends.
