Charles C. Lytle 82 Dies at Home in York County

Charles C. Lytle 82 dies at his York County home Thursday morning August 8. Melchior Widga found the body near the driveway and the Polk Emergency Unit took him to Osceola then Metz Mortuary in York. Lytle, born March 30 1886, farmed in York County 1908 to 1947 and married Lillie F. King in 1914. Survived by widow two sons one daughter seven grandchildren two great grandchildren and a sister. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday Metz Mortuary York with Rev. Fred Danforth officiating. Burial Greenwood Cemetery York.

Polk community members gather at Community Hall Monday evening August 19 at 8:00 as the club finalizes plans for Polk Bean Days on September 6 and 7. Polk Bean Days run Friday and Saturday September 6 and 7 with most events on Saturday. A teen dance and a girls softball game conclude Friday evening.
