Community Notes From Stromsburg and Surroundings

Several residents made trips to Omaha Colorado and Canada while others attended events in Stromsburg. A large open air Swedish union meeting at the Mission church featured Rev Dahlin of Denver and raised funds for the National Sanitarium for consumptives. A farmers market of social events included ice cream socials and a funeral at the Swedish Mission church.

Obituary of Henry Nathaniel Anderson in Stromsburg

Henry Nathaniel Anderson died last Thursday night at his wife Margaret Norman Andersons home in Stromsburg at age 25 years 5 months 22 days. Born in Stockholm Sweden in 1885 he immigrated to the United States in 1897 worked on a Polk County farm and paid his way through college becoming a bookkeeper and stenographer in Lincoln. He married Margaret Norman in June 1908 and moved to Lincoln but fell ill with consumption in January 1910. After a trip to Arizona his health failed and he returned to Stromsburg where he died in his wifes home under tender family care. He leaves a sorrowing wife and baby a father one brother and two sisters in Sweden.
