All lot owners in Polk village are asked to remove weeds on and in front of their lots by August 15. This directive comes from the Board of Trustees and seeks to keep streets and properties clear and safe.

Henry Nathaniel Anderson died last Thursday night at his wife Margaret Norman Andersons home in Stromsburg at age 25 years 5 months 22 days. Born in Stockholm Sweden in 1885 he immigrated to the United States in 1897 worked on a Polk County farm and paid his way through college becoming a bookkeeper and stenographer in Lincoln. He married Margaret Norman in June 1908 and moved to Lincoln but fell ill with consumption in January 1910. After a trip to Arizona his health failed and he returned to Stromsburg where he died in his wifes home under tender family care. He leaves a sorrowing wife and baby a father one brother and two sisters in Sweden.
