The American Legion plans the play Sweetheart Town for April 25 and 26. Mrs. E M Burke celebrated her eightieth birthday on Monday April 22 with a reception from three to five in the afternoon. Over 60 friends visited the honored guest and gifts included a bouquet from the Baptist Mission Circle. Guests from Stromsburg and Hordville attended, including C P Nelson Wm Backlund A J Jones and Mr and Mrs J W Nelson. Coffee and cake were served.

Albert Peterson 72 longtime Arborville resident died Sunday night after a lingering illness. Survived by widow two sons Alvin and Orville at home three daughters Velma Loren Weeks and Elis White all in Arborville one sister Mrs Thomas Irvin Whitewater Wis two brothers Cornelius in Whitewater and Almon in Janesville Wis. A short service will be at Metz chapel Tuesday at 1 pm followed by Congregational church service in Arborville conducted by Rev Peterson of Polk.
Judge L S Hastings of David City notified the district court clerk that he will return to York Thursday to continue the Mincks divorce hearing. He indicated the decree will be granted but the hearing will continue on property settlement.
William Junge of Benedict was taken into custody by Sheriff A. E. Carter Saturday evening and placed in the county jail for investigation on a charge of bastardy.
