Wendy Redman Enters Lions Talent Contest in Nebraska City

Wendy Redman entrant in district Lions talent contest in Nebraska City this Sunday. Her guitar vocal solo placed third in Senior Division at York Area Contest last Sunday. District winners advance to state competition in Scottsbluff this spring. Wendy is a Polk High School senior, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ralph Redman.

Community Club to View Fire Slideshow and New School Pictures

The Polk Community Club will meet Monday evening to view slides of the school house fire and the construction of the new building. Todaro to study Shingon Buddhism in Japan on fellowship

Dale Todaro of Allentown and Polk namesake family travels to Tenri University Japan to work on an MA thesis about Shingon Buddhism. He received the 1975 76 Indiana University Tenri University Student Exchange Fellowship to continue research on major Eastern religions. He writes and speaks Japanese fluently and aims for a university teaching career in religion.

Gingham Gals 4-H Club Elects Leaders at First Meeting

On April 9 the Gingham Gals 4-H Club met at Anne Widga’s house to elect officers and plan projects. Pattie Bender is president with Kathie Bender as vice president Becky Brazda as secretary treasurer Cindy Widga as news reporter Lynelle Meerkatz as historian and Anne Widga as leader with Kathie Bender as assistant. The group, numbering eleven girls, chose the new project Decorate Your Dads for the year.
