Converts in Five-Week Evangelistic Campaign End in 100 Baptisms

The union evangelistic meetings at Free Mission and M R churches concluded Sunday with 100 conversions credited to Evangelist Violet Heefner and coworker Sudenga of Des Moines. A Bible class formed with 60 volunteers. a $672.35 purse honored the two workers. Over 700 attended Sunday services, amid church parking overflow, as local pastors contributed sermons and a union choir provided music.

Mrs Olof Ostlund Dies After Long Illness

Mrs Olof Ostlund died at her Polk home after months of illness with family at her side. Short funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm and at the Swedish Mission church at 2:30 pm conducted by Rev Wm Westlund. Obituary next week.

Sweetheart Town musical at Vik ing theatre

The American Legion presents Sweetheart Town a musical comedy staged by Frederick B. Ingram Productions. Thirty young ladies wear new costumes in a tale of a country boy leaving town amid a major local robbery accusation. Performances are Thursday and Friday evenings, April 25 and 26.

Country Club Holds March Meeting and Election

The Country Club met at Mrs. R B Williams home on March 28 with twelve members present and three visitors. President Josephine Wurtz opened the session with a song, the annual meeting and officer election were held, and adjournment set for April 18 with a lunch served. Charlotte Barney of Lincoln taught in Osceola on April 3, with Mrs Williams and Mrs Grant Johnson leading the project.
