A large audience enjoyed the Polk Community Chorus cantata Behold Your King at the high school auditorium on Palm Sunday. Director Lynn Fletcher accompanied by pianist Vern Samuels led soloists and section singers including Jean Nielsen Gwen Lindburg Norma Bodine Donna Bodine Jane Nyberg Janice Saylor Eilene Hanson Marlene Hanquist Delores Rahrs Connie Ang Donna Lindburg Virginia Samuelson Jan Lindburg Bill Tallman Dennis Stevens Gregg Hanquist Rev Willis Pauls John Nyberg. Invocation by Rev John McCurdy and benediction by Rev Clifford Lindburg preceded the offering prayer. The congregation joined the chorus in singing Christ the Lord Is Risen Today.

Community Action Weatherization Program details Nebraska counties

Community Action agencies can weatherize homes across Nebraska counties using manpower and equipment. Materials funded from Title XX for eligible clients. Projects must be completed between April 1 and June 30, 1977. Applicants include current Social Services recipients, SSI/State Supplement beneficiaries, or other low income individuals. Peggy Neeman Named Finalist in Miss Nebraska National Teen-Ager Pageant

Peggy Neeman a 17 year old Polk resident daughters of Mr and Mrs Dick Neeman has been selected as a finalist in the 1977 Miss Nebraska National Teen-Ager Pageant to be held June 10 to 12 at Concordia College Seward Nebraska. The winner advances to Atlanta Georgia August 5 1977 for the national event and earns college scholarships and an all expense paid trip. Contestants are judged on scholastic achievement leadership poise personality and beauty with no swimsuit or talent portion and a 100 word essay on Whats Right About America. Neeman is sponsored by The Food Shop Polk Oil Co MacDonalds Market Citizens State Bank. Her hobbies include music crafts and sports.
