New City Hall Construction Advances In Sanford

The floor of the New City Hall shows progress as workers complete main structure and basement areas. Rooms including kitchen fire department district room council marshal offices cost rooms and a tool room are set up on the lower level while the upper floor will house the council and public library with a jail block planned. The council plans to appoint a librarian at the public library, with applications received and to be considered Saturday night. Mrs. S. L. Robertson, the widow of a Britith, will take charge after the vote, amid ongoing talk of a land issue referenced in the proclamation.

Pleasant Grove Softball Teague started the race with Smith Drug defeating Lindon 18 to 3 and R Clark beating Mercur 15 to 0. Old Folks Outing Draws 290 From Timpanogos Stake

More than 290 residents of the Timpanogos Stake are set to attend the tri stake Old Folks Outing at American Park on Wednesday June 21. The program includes a social hour at 10 9 am, a noon dinner, and a 2 pm program with an address by President Wilford W Warnick and musical selections by Martyn Richards Virginia Jacobs and Beth Meeks. Transportation is organized by ward committees led by chairs Erra Swenson Manila C J Cobb ley Linden Robert Wright Windsor Edward Hardman Second ward Herbert Armitstead First ward and Owen Christiansen Third ward.

Stable Prices For Berries Expected This Year

Utah county berry growers anticipate stable prices as contracts come in from nearly all growers. I J Burr reports, at the Utah Berry Growers Association board meeting, that dealer and trucker groups discussed relations and a tentative agreement was reached. Northern Utah contracts are being pursued to sign more growers, with directors J Erval Christensen, F L Culmer, W E Fountin, Clarence Soulier and Alvin Lunceford expressing confidence in stable prices. Further marketing plans hinge on completing contract drives.

Fire Damages Lindon Residence

A roof fire at John Martin's Lindon home started by chimney sparks caused minor damage before Pleasant Grove firefighters brought the flames under control. The Thursday morning incident required an emergency response and an immediate suppression effort.

4-H members and readers met to outline coming club work in Utah county.
