Family members travel to Las Vegas for visit

Callers at the Jesse Walker home this week included Mrs Walker's mother Mrs Charles DeGraff and Miss Betty Nelson of Salt Lake City. They were en route to Las Vegas to visit Mrs DeGraff's daughter and family. Mr DeGraff and his son Dale drove via California and will meet the party in Las Vegas.

Nine Boys from PG Set for Scout Jamboree in 1957

Nine boys from Pleasant Grove plan to attend the Fourth National Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge Pennsylvania in July 1957 joining 59 000 scouts from around the world. They will visit Chicago area sites including Greenfield Village Niagara Falls Palmyra and New York City as part of preparation for citizenship and leadership. A six day stay at Valley Forge recalls Washington’s winter encampment 1775 78 with emphasis on Scouting values. A few places remain on a first come first served basis for boys meeting age and rank requirements and paying a 25 reservation fee.
