Manila Annual Early Christmas Morning Service

The Manila ward of Timpanogos Stake presents a Christmas morning program at 6:00. The ward church sits on a high elevation overlooking Utah Valley, lit by a star visible for miles. Under MT A with Effie W Adams and Warnick Swenson as presidents, the hall will feature a 12 by 30 foot painted curtain and candle decorations. Mass Meeting Deliberates Youth Problems at Stake Tabernacle

The Adwt classes of the stake joined citizens for a mass meeting at the stake tabernacle Monday evening conducted by L. War nick. Speakers included Alma Clayton of Salt Lake instigator of the compulsory school law H V. Watkins Sharon Stake president Mayor Lycan Johnson Mayor-elect S A Kirk Superintendent David Gourley Principal Karl Banks President W W Warnick and others. The gathering aimed to curb minor tobacco law violations and combat the marble game, seen as wasting youth time and resources.

Deer Creek Water Subscription Passes With Narrow Turnout

In Pleasant Grove 77 votes were cast with 66 for the water subscription from the Deer Creek project and 11 against while Lindon tabulated 37 ballots with 32 for and 5 against. The election occurred Friday December 17.
