Salty Street Roots of Juvenile Trouble in Salt Lake City
In Battle Creek about a week ago four Salt Lake City boys aged 17, 17, 16, and M engaged in a melee outside a meeting house after Mutual. A 19-year-old Bountiful youth was stabbed. The four admitted beer drinking and called themselves delinquent. They hailed from Ninth East Street, Salt Lake City, a once quiet area now seen as tough. The writer laments adult neglect and notes a Salt Lake City bus incident where four teens smoked and refused to enforce a law, illustrating broader failure to guide youth. The piece closes with a call for action before Thursday.
