Chamber of Commerce to Collect Data for Calendar

The Chamber of Commerce met last Thursday and divided the city into districts. A director will canvass each district to collect information on salivities proposed by local organizations for the year starting September 1, 1948 to August 31, 1948. An August meeting was set to organize and a calendar of events will be published with copies to organizations and a weekly listing in the paper.

Calf Award Eligibility For 4-H and FFA Boys

Four H and FFA members are eligible for a purebred calf to be awarded at the Community Fair on September 10. The Bank of Pleasant Grove funds the calf via the Pleasant Grove Livestock Club. Committee members Rex Surley, Phillip Shumway, and Leo Harvey prepared the qualification outline for winners.

Luncheon Honors California Visitor by Utah Classmates

Mrs 8. C. Jackson hosted a luncheon at her home on Wednesday for Jane Boulter Dunn of Los Angeles. The former classmates, all women from the inner circle, reminisced and later visited Mrs Thelma Richie Littleford who was homebound. The First Ward outing Saturday at Mutual Dell will be an all day event. Fun begins at 1 p.m. Supper is at 6 with the program at 7 30 and melons will be served.

Manila 4-H Represents at Aspen Grove Camp

The Manila 4-H club sent a large group to Aspen Grove Camp with all 44 members represented. Mrs Marily Walker led sewing activities while Mrs Lyle Merrilison counted seven attendees. Nelda Warnici and the Red Tembers club contributed to the group's efforts and showcased 4-H work amid demonstrations of projects and leadership at the camp.

Family reunion for Thomas Larson and Marie Hanson Garson descendants gathered at Saratoga on a Sunday afternoon in August. Los Angeles Girl Becomes Mrs Harold Prestwich

Ellen Brown, daughter of Mr and Mrs Carl F Heyneman of Los Angeles, marries Harold Prestwich, son of Mr and Mrs William Prestwich of Pleasant Grove. The wedding took place August 1 at the Prestwich home with Bishop Reed O Walker officiating. The couple and about 50 guests shared a supper at Twin Pines in Orem. The couple enjoyed a short honeymoon at Fish Lake and Southern Utah and now reside in Pleasant Grove.
